'True' To Feature In Summer Blockbuster 'Crazy, Stupid Love'
Spandau’s original recording of their white-boy soul classic, ‘True’, is to feature in the forthcoming romantic comedy drama ‘Crazy, Stupid Love’. Set to be this Summer’s blockbuster movie and released on July 29th, the film stars Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Analeigh Tipton, Julianna Guill, Kevin Bacon and Marisa Tomei.
The film follows Cal (Steve Carell) who, recently divorced from his wife Emily (Julianne Moore), finds himself in today’s single world and taken on as a “wingman” to handsome thirty-something player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). Jacob opens Cal’s eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style. Despite Cal’s makeover, the one thing that can’t be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.

Spandau’s music is of course very familiar in cinematic circles having had tracks featured in many films including Sixteen Candles, Not Another Teen Movie, Charlies Angels, Wedding Crashers, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Hot Tub Time Machine and Angus Thongs & Perfect Snogging.
