UPDATED: Note From Steve Norman: The M Fest in July
I’m very pleased to announce that two of my favourite current bands, The Crookes and The Heartbreaks are confirmed for The MFest. Both bands are in the early stages of their career and have already gained a following with their fresh and exciting sound and impressive live shows. Rusty Egan is also confirmed and will be DJing across the weekend.
In addition, we have managed to secure this fantastic weather for the whole of the MFest weekend!.....OK…we’re not quite there yet with that one but we’re working on it.

THE MFEST, Harewood House, Leeds. July 7th & 8th
Working as curator for The MFest has been a labour of love for me. But it’s not easy choosing a weekend’s worth of music from the past 35 years. There are so many bands, musicians and genres to choose from as well as age gaps to consider. In the current spirit of national pride, we have kept it British and I’m very excited about the line up we have so far.
Texas have reformed and are headliners along with The Human League. Cher Lloyd and Scouting For Girls will appeal to the younger audience as I’m sure Bob Geldof, Paul Heaton, Big Country and Bruce Foxton’s From The Jam will appeal to the slightly older. We’ve also got the soul of Beverley Knight, Soul 11 Soul & Sophie Ellis Bextor. Importantly, the festival will provide a showcase for up and coming artists; The Low Suns are a band that are going places as are Lawson. Singer/songwriters Delilah and Steve Appleton are also making waves. You never know who will turn out to be U2 of the future. And the list goes on.
DJ Rusty Egan will be master of the decks and head sponsor Morrisons will be providing the very reasonably priced food with appearances from their celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli, Nigel Haworth et al.
