Martin hits UK TV screens tonight as one the contestant of ITV1’s ’71 Degrees North’. He is one of 10 celebrities who have taken part in second series of the adventure show set amongst the icy glaciers and snowy landscape of Scandinavia.
Culminating inside the Arctic Circle, this eight part adventure series stars Martin and nine others, fighting their way to the most northern part of mainland Europe.
Spandau’s bass man and must battle it out on a journey to the North Cape, 71° North of the equator. Their destination lies at the northernmost point of mainland Europe and getting there will require every ounce of strength they have. Those taking up the challenge with Martin are: Brooke Kinsella, Nicky Clarke, Charlie Dimmock, Rav Wilding, Lisa Maxwell, Sean Maguire, Angellica Bell, John Thomson and Amy Williams.
In the first episode, the contestants arrive in Norway and split into two teams before taking on their first challenge – a dog sled race to their camp. Later, they face the daunting task of swimming in the freezing waters of a Norwegian fjord in just their normal swimwear. After the swim, the celebrities vote for someone to leave the expedition – who will be eliminated first?
71 Degrees North starts tonight on ITV1 at 9pm.
