Basto, Belgium’s rising star of the dance music scene, has gone for Gold with his remix of Spandau Ballet’s classic anthem. The track is out now exclusively worldwide through www.beatport.com!
As one of the most sought after producers in today’s music scene, Basto has been tearing up the European and club charts with remixes and hits featuring everyone from Kylie Minogue, The Wanted, Ed Sheeran and Flo-Rida to the recent smash hit ‘212’ with Azelia Banks featuring Lazy Jay.
Teaming Tony Hadley’s unmistakably powerful vocals with a thumping beat, Basto has turned the 1983 track into a contemporary dance track that is equally at home on the dancefloors as it will be on the terraces of the country’s Olympic stadia. As Basto himself says: “When I first decided to remix “Gold” by Spandau Ballet, I. hesitated for a moment. Usually, I’m very sceptical when it comes to reworking classics. Why would you wanna take the risk to ruin an epic record? But we managed to make it a very relevant dance track, without losing the gist of the original. It’s not a remix of an old track anymore, it’s a cool record with an epic vocal”
