'Chant No.1' features In Ashes To Ashes Trailer

Ashes to Ashes, the BBC’s highly popular and acclaimed series starring Philip Glenister and Keeley Hawes returns for a new series on 21st April.

Legendary 80’s promo director Tim Pope has been commissioned to film a trailer for it which is currently running across the BBC network, it is a brilliant homage to Spandau Ballet’s promo film for “Chant No.1, I Don’t Need that Pressure On” featuring Philip Glenister. The original video was filmed in Soho’s Le Beat Route club in Summer 1981 and directed by Russell Mulcahy. It was arguably one of the groups best promo videos capturing the atmosphere of Le Beat Route on a Friday night in 1981, at the time the World’s most exciting, hippest night club.

Tim Pope’s trailer uses Spandau’s “Chant No.1” as it’s sound bed and we will be seeing a lot of it over the next couple of weeks.
